Fletchers Tire and Auto Service - Car Repair Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had a absolute horrible experience with Fletcher's located on union hills and 35th Ave. the customer service is terriable, I had numerous excuses as to why I won't be helped finally after 5th visit after being told I don't need and appponitment. " we don't have time today, our tech isn't in today, ITS NOT MY PROBLEM, someone else quoted you that not me, I have other things to do" I received attitude over the phone and in person was insulted by the front desk tech and was waived off when attempting to express my concerns. I did not pass emissions after repair was done. Prices seem to differ everyday and are not solid quotes. I don't trust the company they are not honest, do not hold to promises, I do not feel valued as a customer and would never recommend the company to anyone. Horrible way to build loyal customers and represent a company.

DO not go to bell road fletchers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I originally took my vehicle to fletchers on 35th ave and union hills. They would not release my vehicle they had done so many extra things to my vehicle without my consent that I could not pay for. So I actually had a mechanic look at my vehicle and they said that all i needed was alignment. This was a friend of mine. So I took it to fletchers for the alignment. They told me it would take a few hours so no problem. Then they called me and said all this stuff was wrong with my vehicle and that they are not going to do the alignment that I already paid for unless i do all this other stuff. KEep in mind my mechanic friend said that the only thing I needed was the alignment. I called to talk to a manager. He cussed at me and hung up on me. I also found a few reviews that state they have done the exact same thing to them. THis is absolutely horrible. DO not go to these locations. Especially Bell road.

The Technician Cursed at me when I would'nt let them rip her off

My elderly lady friend of 72 yrs brought her 2007 chevy silverado into get checked out for running rough yesturday June 1 at Fletchers on 51 ave and Baseline Rd. The technician cursed at me when I showed up and ask them to release her truck back to her because she would not be paying $750. to have her spark plugs changed!!! Even after agreeing to pay the diagnosis they stilled tried to hold on to her truck claiming it was taking them an hour to put a spark plug back in. Attempted price gouging at its finest!!! I'll never suggest anyone ever bring their car to them unless really don't like them.

Emissions Fiasco

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Here is my scathing review. Horrible, negligent and incompetent experience!! Work was done at 67th Avenue & Happy Valley Road in Phoenix. Had my car in three times. They ordered the wrong parts twice. Charged $700 first visit and $1800 2nd visit. Kept my car longer than was they said they would keep. Tried to go through emissions 2nd time but was told it would fail because the gas cap hadn't been replaced, which was clearly indicated on the emissions failure document that I left with Fletcher's the first time (perhaps they can't read either). Feel like I've been financially gauged and charged for work that I may not have even needed as well as being extremely inconvenienced. Will never go back to the place again!!! Ever!! Highly UN-recommend it!!

Take advantage of situation with FAKE repairs

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Copied from formal complaint: My husband and I came here (12445 n cavecreek rd, Phoenix 85022) a bit over a month and a half ago to get our oil changed, at the time Josh told us we needed to get our brakes done, that's all that needed to be done. 2 weeks ago (1 week before we took our car in to Fletcher's for the brakes) we had to take our car to the car dealership to get a computer chip repaired, and they told us the same thing. So we decided to come back to Fletcher's due to the good service, being right around the corner, and a good brake deal. We took our car in for the brake service on 7/2/15. Now, my husband and I have a toddler and due with a baby any day now. When we came into this location Josh informed us that the best option for our car would be the $99 brakes instead of the $59, or else they would squeal and wouldn't last long. My husband and I both told him that the $59 is ALL we can afford right now, that we just need something temporary because we have a baby due ANY DAY, just until we can save up to get the good brakes done on the car..but we just needed something for now because money is tight when you're expecting a baby any day. We made that VERY clear and he said he understood. A few hours later my husband received a call from Josh stating that we needed "everything" (both axles. pads, rotors, shocks, struts, etc) done and costs of all repairs would be $3,000. My husband kept telling him that we do not have that type of money, as we told him earlier, and he kept pushing trying to get him to pay. My husband kept trying to explain that we DO NOT have the money, and he kept lowering the price. As I told him earlier we were trying to do things as cheap as possible because we have no money with our baby coming any day now. We would not magically have money by lowering the price, when we say we don't have the funds we don't have the funds, and I even said loudly as my husband was on the phone that we only had $100 to our name and we don't have credit cards. Not everyone can pull that amount of money out of thin air just because they "need" some repairs. Especially with a kid and newborn coming. The final time my husband told him we don't have the money, he then proceeded to tell us that our car needed to be towed back to our home...as we said, we did not have the money and we only lived a few blocks away in the neighborhood, no main streets. He suggested again. My husband told him since we don't have the money to repair the car that we will be on our way to pick it up. About 15 minutes later we arrived and our car was still up, no problem. As we walked in no worker was inside and had to wait a few minutes, again..no problem. The worker who came in had no idea what was going on and then told us that they will bring the car around as soon as they can. Josh pulls our car up to the front door and swings the door open, walks in all fast pissed off and rudely gives my husband the keys. The worker asks about the paperwork because he was confused, and Josh gives him a short remark in a rude voice and walks out the back door. He did not stop walking for ANY of this..didn't stop to give him the keys, didn't stop to explain anything to us (which normally mechanics do after they've looked at your car), didn't stop to talk to the worker, nothing. He was in the front door and out the back in 5 seconds. Possibly less. So the worker not knowing what to do handed us the paper and told us we were able to go. That was the RUDEST experience I have ever had ANYWHERE. Pissed off because we don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to pull out of thin air for unexpected repairs, that we told him before-hand that we did not have. Which he said he "understood" when we dropped off the car, obviously not. And, whenever we have needed something fixed and didn't have the funds, anywhere else, the mechanic wasn't rude and when we arrived went over everything in person that was needed. This, was the total opposite. Now here's the kicker. As I stated above we had to get our computer chip repaired at the dealership a week before we came to this location. At the time the dealership told us the same thing, all we needed was brake pads, possibly rotors..exactly what we were told my Josh a month and half prior to this incident. So we decided to take the car back to the dealership and have them double check. The dealership confirmed, all we needed was brake pads and rotors, everything else was tested and fine. Just to be sure, we got another opinion at a shop we went to to get our a/c tested (computer chip problem), that before we went to Fletcher's told us the same thing...brake pads and possibly rotors. When we arrived and had them recheck, they also confirmed, brake pads and rotors ONLY. We pulled out our paperwork from Josh and showed the mechanic. First thing he did was laugh. Then, he brought over the other mechanic that helped him with our car..he laughed too. They tested everything else and it was FINE. ALL that was needed was pads and rotors. Now, how is it that a month and a half after Josh told us that all we needed was brakes, we magically needed "everything desperately repaired" and needed a tow? There's no way "everything" needed a repair THAT BAD within a month and a half with not being noticeable the first time. Also, why did two places before Fletcher's tell us pads only with possible rotors, then afterwards confirm all we needed was pads and rotors? You would think another place would tell us the same thing. Nope. Thankfully my aunt assisted us in payment for our brakes since they were needed to bring my baby home safely. It's very disgusting that someone would LIE to that extent just to make money. He knew he could (try to) take advantage of us knowing we have a family and a baby coming, because we would want everything safe for my child and possibly scare us. Well good job on that. I went home crying and stressing over the fact that I wouldnt have a car to get to the hospital in, bring my baby home in, or have my husband get to work. I have high blood pressure that my doctor has been monitoring for the safety of my baby..and that raised it through the roof. It was almost to the point my doctor was going to have me sent to the ER. I could've had complications and risked the health of my unborn, all because your worker/manager wanted to take advantage of a situation. Before this incident, I had no issues with this location, Josh was very nice the first time we took our car there. I even sent my mother there to get her oil done, and praised this company to others. But now, never again. I have lived in this area for 19 years, my husband and I both have huge families, and we know many people around here, around the city, and online. Many people already know of this incident, and even more will know to NEVER come to this location. It's very disgusting and shocking to have someone know your situation, act like they understand, then turn around and be pushy, unbelievably rude for something you have no control over, and come to find out it was all one big scam. Horrible customer service, horrible employee, and horrible person. I will not let this go, especially if it is handled like nothing. I understand mechanics need to make money, but this was way too far and beyond anything imaginable. I am very glad my aunt didn't offer to pay for our brake service that day and lose out on all of that money. They will never get a CENT of money from us or anyone we know for that matter, ever again.

Bad communication skills and workmanship

Took my 91 Lexus es250 in to Fletchers Tires Laveen to get an AC compressor put in. They installed the new DENSO (OEM) compressor and also told me that there was an engine code 52 (knock sensor). We agreed that I would pick up the knock sensor and bring the car back. Next day the car died. I towed the car back to them that day (Friday). On Friday they were going to check out why the car died. On Tuesday they called me with news that they think they know what the problem is. Wanted $350 to fix it. In the fix the intake manifold needed to be removed, which just happens to happen also to replace the knock sensor. On Wednesday they called me again to let me know that there was more that needed done. So I asked them what the total was going to be. They informed me it was $841. I told them I was not happy with all this, so they said they would reduce it to $700. I finally told them ok. I thrusday they called to let me know the car was ready. When I get down there they gave me 2 bills. One for the $350 and another for $700. A total of $1,050. I told them that when I ask what the total was they told me $700. Then they proceeded to tell me that it was just for the second phone call, but not the first. Then as we were discussing these bills I find out that they didn't install the knock sensor (which was the primary reason for all of this). They wanted another $330 labor to do this because they would have to remove the intake manifold again. Well, at this point I told them to keep the car because I wasn't going to pay this bill or for work they were suppose to do in the first place. Now all of this was after having my car for 6 days. They finally gave me a discount and told me they would install the knock sensor for free. So I paid them $750 and drove the car home. While driving the car home, the AC quit blowing cold. I only live 2 miles away. So I waited a couple of days to take the car back to get the knock sensor installed at their expense. I had already purchased the knock sensor and told them they didn't have to buy it. When I took the car to them, they told me I needed to go get the upper and lower gasket set for the intake manifold. Which I did. They also agreed to check out my AC system and see if there was a bubble in the system and recharge it. So they start working on the car. Two hours later I get a call and they told me that the wiring (pigtail) for the knock sensor was bad and they were not able to find one for my car. I got out on the internet and found that one of the recommendations for this fix was to replace it with a shielded microphone wire from Radio Shack. So I went and got a 2 ft piece of shielded microphone wire so they could fix this problem. They thanked me and said they've got this covered. I ask them to call me when it was ready. They said about 2 hours. They never called me back that day. I waited until almost 1PM the next day and called them. They told me they were just getting it back together and would call me in a little while and let me know it was ready. At 5:30PM they close. It is 6PM and they did not call me. I guess I will find out tomorrow if I will get a call. This is very frustrating. They have had my car more in the last 2 weeks than I have. And these were 2 hour jobs (according to them). This car is for my daughter that just fought cancer for the last 2 years and finally won her battle. She just got her old job back and trying to get on with her life. That was the reason for the AC repair in the first place. I'm into this car for parts and labor over $1200 because this doesn't include the money I paid for parts. They charged me $185 for spark plug wires. The most expensive price I could find these wires for was $85. Most of the parts they charged me for were at least 3 times what I could find them for. I have 3 different invoices from Fletchers Tires for the parts and labor. Plus they charge you for a warranty on their work. And she has to use my truck to go to work everyday because her car is at Fletchers Tires.

Someone found my story that I had posted on facebook and put it out here, however, it is not how I posted it on facebook. It has a lot correct, but some of the story has been put in other positions and some of it they changed my words.

Fletchers Tires are very bad. I also went to BBB and they took Fletchers Tires side because I refused to take it back to Fletchers Tires for them to try and correct my still existing problems. So far I have been fixing the problems myself. AC problem was fan motor.

Knock sensor problem is still the pigtail. Replaced broken vacuum switches (they broke). Paid for oil leak fix (replace valve cover gaskets) and valve covers still leak. Nothing I paid for except the rotor cap and spark plugs and wires were fixed by Fletchers Tires.

Charged me for a distributor cap and was never replaced. Charged me over $500 for parts and I could buy them at O'rielly's for less than $200.

Went in as a first time customer, for their oil change special at the w dunlap ave store in Phoenix. When i called and set an appointment. I was not given a time just in the morning. When i got there the young Hispanic man said i didnt have an appointment and i whould have to wait two hours. When i explained that i was just told to come in the morning he said, "i dint know who you talked too". So pretty much he was not going to work anything out with me about their screw up. I said id walj my do he said for what two hours. So disrespectful. I walked out and i wont go back. I ended up going to midas and paid full price, but it was worth it to me To be treated like a human being. So sorry you hire people like that. Cause you lost a customer that at least pays 700.00 Ionaverage a year.

Fletcher's Goodyear inflates prices about 175%

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I took my car to Fletcher's Goodyear this week after having heard good reviews from two trusted folks. My car had starter issues, I gave them the ok to fix then got slammed with a $1118 bill.‏ Soon after he saw my shock to hear the price, the guy who assisted me offered to knock $300 off. I saw this as a major red flag. On the bill were a few items that seemed like unnecessary repairs. I eventually was able to negotiate down to $668. What's more, he said his co-worker had told me the price tag over the phone but if this were the case, I obviously won't have been so surprised to hear it in the store. Turns out I'm not the only one who's had problems with Fletcher's tire & auto, as several online reviews attest. Also, the state of Arizona filed suit against the Gilbert Fletcher’s two years ago, see http://us5.campaign-archive2.com/?u=cc1fad182b6d6f8b1e352e206&id=ef0b56fb0f.

Tires keep going flat! I spent 1100.00 for four tires going through their finance co

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I called up for the loan on the tires to see if I was going to be granted a loan. I understood the loan was financed through their financial co. but the paperwork came in at the tire store, so I never read the fine print. I paid 300.00 a month for four months and I had to cancel after the 1200.00 mark was paid, plus the tires suck. I have had to put air (the place you cannot believe is so busy), I was told I couldn't get a tire replaced unless it was defective, losing air everyday sounds defective to me.
